Bringing communities together and fighting food insecurity, one stop at a time

The Holiday Train is more than a train. Now in its 28th year, it's a celebration of generosity, community and the power of coming together to help neighbours in need.

As the brightly decorated train travels across our network, communities gather to enjoy live music and support local food banks. Every donation stays in the community where it is given, helping local organizations provide meals and support during the holiday season and beyond.

Join us at a show and help make this year's Holiday Train our most meaningful yet.

Know before you go

The Holiday Train is a festive community event, but safety remains our top priority.

Stay safe near railway property

Always stay at least 50 feet or 15 metres back from the tracks when taking a picture or viewing this magical train of lights.

Never take a picture or video standing on the track or the ballast and always stand back from the locomotive and box cars.

Protect yourself from scams

All Holiday Train events are free. Any source requesting payment for tickets is fraudulent and should be reported. CPKC will never ask for your personal, banking or financial information to attend a Holiday Train event. For the latest Holiday Train news and event information, rely only on official CPKC channels.

“Our railroaders take great pride in bringing the Holiday Train through hundreds of communities across our network to support people facing food insecurity. Through the generosity of the thousands of families and fans who come out to see the Holiday Train and support local food banks, whether for the first time or as part of a long-running holiday tradition, we can spread the joy of the season and support the giving spirit of the holidays."

- Keith Creel, CPKC President and Chief Executive Officer

Tren Navideño

Since 2010, the Tren Navideño has brought holiday cheer to communities across Mexico. The train includes two decorated boxcars, a flat car featuring a nativity scene, an Alto Total caboose, a Mexican Revolution commemorative caboose and an eco-friendly locomotive, all adorned with festive holiday lights.

Funded through contributions from railroaders and sponsors, Tren Navideño visits communities across CPKC's Mexico network to help brighten the holiday season for children and families in need. Through special events and charitable giving, the train reflects CPKC's commitment to supporting the communities we serve throughout our three-nation network.

Tren Navideño events are private and not open to the general public.
